Secretary Message
I am exactly remembering the happenings which I came in my life, when I started my career as a Lecturer in Chemistry dept. at D.A.V. College in the year 1974 after completion of P.hd. course from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. It was an incident of 1980,When I wanted to contest Siwan assembly election as my name was recommended by Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee but at the last hour I was denied ticket from the Congress Parliamentary Board, Delhi and returned Siwan from Delhi. My father Late Zulfequar Haider told me that some of my colleagues and some dignitaries of the town had approached him regarding starting an Unani Medical college at Siwan. My father has asked them to meet me for this purpose, when I returned from Delhi. After my return all personalities along with some B.U.M.S. graduates came to my house and asked for co-operation from my father and also from me. The Z.H. Unani Medical College & Hospital is located in the north western portion of Siwan town on the bank of River Daha about 1.5 km. away from Siwan Railway jn. It spreads over a plot of 5 acres. There is ample Scope for the future growth of the Campus.The College was establised in 1979 & got affiliation from govt. of Bihar with letter nO.607/ D.C. dated 14.08.84 & approved with its letter No:-55/85-4(3)dated 18.06.85& onward affiliated from B. R.Ambedkar Bihar university muzaffarpur. (As thus it is affiliated under B.R.Ambedkar Bihar university, muzaffarpur) & recognised by Central Council of Indian Medicine, Ministry of Health & F.W.Delhi & approved by Ministry of Health Govt. of Bihar. Late Zulfequar Haider laid the foundation of this college with the great vision of spreading the Unani method of Medicine. This Institution is running by Bahar Ali Memorial Trust. Principal Message
With the blessing of all merciful & Powerful Almighty 'Allah' let me take the pleasure to say few words about this reputed Institution in Unani Medicine .Its careful nourishment and exploration has become my destiny and life long mission. After completion of my education in Unani Medical stream from prestigious Aligarh Muslim University, it was my desire and ambition to spread and disseminate the knowledge acquired in the field from that great Centre of learning. To that desire I joined Z.H. Unani Medical college: Siwan on; 21-.11.1980 as Lecturer In the Deptt. of Unani Tib & Surgery. At that time Hm. Ataur Rehman Nadvi was the college Principal. After two year he resigned from the said post on Medical ground. I was the senior- most teacher at that time hence Secretary of the college Dr. Qurban Halder Sahab provided me the opportunity to serve the college as Prof. ln charge on 01.01.1982. He reposed great faith & trust in me for which I shall be highly grateful. His far sighted vision & able administrat who always encouraged and supported me like as a family member to run the affairs of the college smoothly and without any hindrance. Later on managing committee pleased & confirmed me as permanent Principal on 18.11.1990 &' continues till today. Read more
